Chelsea Garden QUILT
$90.00
My garden is a joy. It was my Mother’s garden before it was mine so holds lots of memories and precious plants that were hers. I even have my Grandmothers rhubarb, and her ultimate treasure – maidenhair fern.
That magical spring time of year inspired me to create some more applique designs based on the flowers in my garden – I hope you like them too.
Starting out as small applique blocks (they fit an 8 inch block) that could be quickly and inexpensively made and mounted, they quickly became a bit of an addiction and grew in number, then into their own quilt!
Like many of you, I have old doilies and embroidered pieces stashed away. I had this wonderful idea to add some of these to the applique blocks, as you will see in the images. I have left ‘empty’ corner blocks in the quilt so you can embroider, quilt or add your own doilies and personalise your quilt.
There are 14 small applique blocks and each is available as an individual patterns ($18 each). You can find the blocks here: https://www.widebacks.co.nz/sh...
Each one is included in the whole quilt pattern ($90) along with the larger centre block, the Penstemon.
The quilt measures approx 52 x 62 inches, 1.30 m x 1.50 m.
Pattern includes:
* fabric requirements
*colour reference picture
*colours used in the sample and fabric placement
*tracing design already reversed and the correct size
* instructions on how to applique and how to make this quilt top.
The sample is raw edge applique by machine using batik fabrics.
